From Pev, "What if, in a team’s first 3 or 5 (or whatever) matches, much more of the error was attributed to them? I’m not sure by what factor, but I think it might be the way to keep a past performance baseline and normalize it quickly without artificially shifting the EPAs of teams who’ve played more before."

Doesn't seem additive, probably because some teams start out slow and then improve. Attributing too much variance to them reduces metrics.
