[Bug] Mouse hover bug is back in 1.7.9. #95

Describe the bug

The bug that causes videos to randomly play on mouse hover that was fixed in 1.7.8 has returned in 1.7.9, at least in Firefox. I haven't tested other browsers.

I tried going back to 1.7.8 and that seemed to work for a while. Then Firefox itself updated and I started getting the bug in 1.7.8 too, which is very strange.

I hope this bug can be fixed for good. It's very annoying and possibly sentient, as it seems to always wait just long enough for me to forget about it before it pops up again.

How to reproduce

Search for something, then hover the mouse cursor over one of the video results. There is a random chance that it will play as if you had clicked on it. Seems to be a higher chance if you do it before the page fully loads.

Expected behavior

Videos should only play if you click on them.

What browser(s) can you reproduce the issue on?

Firefox

What OS does it occur on?

Windows

What's the version you're running?

1.7.9

Make sure the bug wasn't reported before

Additional context

No response

Duplicate of #85 I pushed a fix #87

I know. I'm saying the fix didn't work. Or at least isn't working anymore.

avi12 commented 1 year ago

I cannot reproduce it ATM

I still get this bug and I was hoping it would be fixed with the latest version (1.8.0) but it isn't. It's quite annoying because I like the functionality of this extension but the videos open by themselves if I hover over them which happens a lot. Do I need to open a new issue?

Yes, you can certainly create a new issue
