Please contributing.md file to contribute in this repo , don't add just random things

Hey bhaiya! This is my first time in the hacktoberfest event... First of all, I understand I should'nt just include random things for the sake of "contributing". I will keep that in mind. I was hoping if you can guide me how to contribute in hacktoberfest.. I mean i have contributed to some repos and I dont see any progress on my hacktoberfest ID.. How should i go by this?
