Looks like I may have answered my own question, walkaround is not generally
available to Apps aliases due to secure-URL policy:

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Create a Walkaround installation 2. Authorize a Google Apps account to use the Walkaround installation 3. Create an alias underneath the Google Apps domain (i.e. not XYZ.appspot.com) 4. Attempt to access the walkaround installation through the alias What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected output should be identical to that of accessing it through the XYZ.appspot.com location. The output seen: Error: Forbidden Your client does not have permission to get URL / from this server.
