general: Kernel does not boot properly #12

I built Platform with reference to documents put in github below. "avionic-design/pbs-stage2/Documentation/"

The build of Platform succeeded. I built by HardFP.

I prepared an SD-Card, and then copied the kernel and rootfs to the SD-Card.

So, I put the SD-Card into the device and powerup.

However, Kernel does not boot properly.

After "Loading Kernel Image ... " was output, it does not work.

I built L4T using other Toolchain (for hard float).

I downloaded that Toolchain from other place. It is not it in pbs-stage1 and pbs-stage2.

I copied L4T Kernel that is using other Toolchain to SD-Card. It was able to boot.

However, L4T Kernel stops on the way, but the situation is better than the thing mentioned above.

In this case I think that image of rootfs may have a problem.

In this case we built L4T Kernel using other Toolchain. It is not it in pbs-stage1 and pbs-stage2. It is the same as the Toolchain which I wrote in the upper comment.

We used rootfs which was in SD-Card inserted in TEC-NG at that time. It is SD-Card which you sent with TEC-NG.

We think that Toolchain of pbs-stage1 and pbs-stage2 may have a problem.

This issue looks like a problem with the load address of the kernel.

This should be set to 0x80008000. So please make sure your platform directory us up to date and contains the commit 341976a.

Therefor do the following:

$ cd pbs-stage2
$ pushd platforms/avionic-design
$ git fetch && git stash && git rebase origin/master && git stash pop

Afterwards you'll need to rebuild the initrd:

$ popd
$ rm -f build/initrd/multi.its
$ nice make O=build/initrd && fakeroot nice make O=build/initrd initrd

You should also verify your boot.scr file on the sd-card. It should look like this:

setenv bootargs mem=1024M console=ttyS0,115200n8 root=LABEL=boot:/rootfs.img rootfstype=squashfs rootwait ro core_edp_mv=1300
setenv loadaddr 0x90000000
ext2load mmc 1:1 ${loadaddr} /boot/uImage
bootm

Note: It is a binary file, so if you use $ cat boot.src you will get some binary data too. But you can see if it is similar to the output above.

When I build Platform with reference to comment above, an error occur.

My fault, is was typing $$ instead of && in the line. $ nice make O=build/initrd && fakeroot nice make O=build/initrd initrd
