I am trying to read xlsx files generated by openxlsx into the EViews software but it turns out impossible. I wrote to the EViews authors and they replied that xlsx files are missing the spans attribute for each row (see discussion here: http://forums.eviews.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19700&p=63338#p63338). Is there a workaround in this situation?
