Both tools aim to bring GitHub Actions to the local environment, albeit with different approaches and feature goals. gale aims to offer a programable GitHub Actions environment for complex workflows.

gale utilizes the Dagger CI/CD engine to orchestrate workflows, which brings a series of benefits:

Currently, 'gale' is in active development and only supports a limited scope as an early 'alpha' release.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions or suggestion feel free to reach from discord.

tbf, I faced some bugs with Act too, tho I'm not an expert on using Act. Is there any good first issue that I can help with?

@GervinFung, thank you for the offer. We need to test gale against open-source repositories and report any issues for missing features or bugs.

If you are interested in contributing, you can always contact me directly via Discord.
