We are working with high volume financial data and unstructured text data. You will also be working with a team of Data Scientists and will be working on productionizing their algorithms. About the Team

• As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing the “big data” infrastructure to be analyzed by Data Scientists. • Working closely with Data Scientists, you are a software engineer who designs, builds, and integrates data from various social media sources. • Key tasks include productionizing algorithms, Natural Language Processing and sentiment analysis, real-time streaming and transformations of data, as well as creating advanced analytics engines. • In the process, you will acquire cutting edge Machine Learning and Deep Learning skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Specialization in data science or a higher degree is a big plus. • Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Engineering (Python, Java or Scala) • Experience with distributed systems and/or large data volumes (Apache Spark) • Comfortable with functional programming (Python or Scala is a plus) • Experience with SQL (Postgres is a plus) • Experience with NoSQL (Mongo, Redis, or Cassandra) • Good communication skills, able to clearly present complex concepts and insights to less technical minded team members and external people.

Ideally

• Knowledge and experience in NLP • Exposure to micro-services • Exposure to concurrency such as Akka/Actors • Experience in queue system, Kafka/RabbitMQ is a big plus • Experienced with Search Engines(Solr or ElasticSearch) • Familiar with cloud services such as (AWS, AZURE)
