6 years ago I rather like this idea, a couple of notes:
1) We'll have to append to the bottom, just to be safe
2) We should unset the default if it is selected on the item being cloned.

Enhancement Request
There should be a Clone/Duplicate action link for variable pricing option.
Justification or use case
Useful when you have too many meta fields under Advanced Settings and do not want to input values all again for new option but only few if the option is cloned.
