Signup with phone number throws validation error

Describe the bug When I try to signup using a phone number (Auth is configured to use phone_number) I get a validation error. Interestingly, if I try to use the HostedUI it works.

"1 validation error detected: Value at 'username' failed to satisfy constraint: Member must satisfy regular expression pattern: [\p{L}\p{M}\p{S}\p{N}\p{P}]+"

To Reproduce

1. amplify add auth
2. Select Phone Number when asked How do you want users to be able to sign in?
3. Sign up using Auth.signUp({ username: '+491707830000', password: 'password' })
4. Sign up fails with the error "1 validation error detected: Value at 'username' failed to satisfy constraint: Member must satisfy regular expression pattern: [\p{L}\p{M}\p{S}\p{N}\p{P}]+"

Expected behavior Signup should be possible
