The submitter has many confusing options and it has strange defaults such as always overriding the frame range with 0-50 instead of defaulting to using the comp duration.
Confusing options include
"Submit project file with job" The project file is included in the job attachments even if this is unchecked so it is unclear what this does
"Include output file path" The output directory is included in the job attachments even if this is unchecked.
"Enable local rendering"
"Comps are dependent on previous comps" This option is always greyed out. Even when rendering multiple comps.
"Project Path"
"Output folder" This field defaults to blank. In Deadline 10, you can only overwrite the output directory if you saved the project as an XML file. It is unclear if this limitation still applies in Deadline Cloud.
Solution
We need to re-evaluate all of the options in the submitter and either remove or redesign confusing ones to be less confusing. We should also use sensible defaults.
