Grafana data sources and Athena named queries #68

It would be very useful if Grafana data sources in AMG supported Athena Saved Queries (also known as Named Queries): https://docs.aws.amazon.com/athena/latest/ug/saved-queries.html

It would simplify definitions of panels that use Grafana data sources.

Does it mean that AMG users have to wait patiently until Grafana implements this feature?

Nope :) , that question was to better understand the requirement. Your ask is specifically for Athena or just any data source i Grafana?

You asked a great question.

I think that any Grafana plugin that provides integration with a product that supports any SQL-like query language would make sense.
