Android 64 bit support #16

Hello,

I am trying to release my game to the Play Store, but the gamekit plugin doesn't support android 64bit. I need to package both 32, 64bit versions of my game. Any workaround with this issue?

Development Environment

In addition can you provide any Android settings that you may have changed or modify such as target OS version and NDK version? Are you able to build and deploy to a phone locally?

Development environment:

I was able to build and test locally. But after checked arm64 checkbox in android settings it gave above error on package. I need to build and upload arm64 package to play store.

We have uploaded a copy of the arm64 binaries as an asset on the current AWS GameKit Unreal plugin (release v1.1.0), https://github.com/aws/aws-gamekit-unreal/releases/tag/v1.1.0

We have also created this guide on re:Post, for building the 64bit binaries and making changes to the current API level.

Hi Byambasurenn,

It looks like to upload to the Play Store, you need to do two separate builds, one for arm7 and one for arm64, rather then combining the two. Here is a link to a forum topic disusing the problem

Summary of the steps to upload both 32bit and 64bit to Google Play:

  1. In Project Settings - Android select store version:. [your version number] - e.g. ‘13’
  2. Tick the Support armv7 [aka armeabi-v7a] and make sure arm64 is NOT ticked.
  3. Build for Android - That’s the 32bit APK
  4. Project Settings - Android select store version:. [your version number] - e.g. ‘14’ (one increment higher)
  5. Tick the Support arm64 [aka arm64-v8a] and make sure armv7 is NOT ticked.
  6. Build for Android - That’s the 64bit APK
  7. In Google playstore under ‘Release Management’ / App releases - select a track - create release - ‘Android App Bundles and APKs to add’ - and upload the 32 bit APK first. Then in the same ‘Android App Bundles and APKs to add’ upload the 64bit APK.

The arm7 libraries for our plugin are still contained within the AwsGameKitUnrealPlugin_v1.1.0.zip on our release in case you no longer have them and would prefer to not build them.
