In July 2024, we are planning on removing support for Visual Studio 2019 from the AWS Toolkit. Mainstream support for Visual Studio 2019 ended in April 2024. The highest supported version of (non-.NET Framework) .NET in Visual Studio 2019 (.NET 5) reached end of support in May 2022.
If you are still using the Toolkit within Visual Studio 2019, you are encouraged to install a newer major version of Visual Studio (2022) and the corresponding AWS Toolkit extension, available on the marketplace:
If you continue to use Visual Studio 2019, you will be able to install the final version of the AWS Toolkit that runs on Visual Studio 2019, however that extension will not receive updates.
Here is how support for Visual Studio 2019 will be phased out:
in early-to-mid July, a release of the Toolkit (update: v1.55.0.0 - see changelog) will show a dismissible info bar in Visual Studio 2019 indicating that the Toolkit will stop receiving updates.
