Package/Publish via NPMJS #62

Hi, It looks like there is some desire to have an official version of the connect-rtc-js library published to NPMJS for easy npm installing.

amazon-connect-streams is already doing so: https://www.npmjs.com/package/amazon-connect-streams, so this feature would be in keeping with the direction of the other amazon connect js lib.

Also, it appears that someone else also wants to be able to install via npm, and has made the changes necessary to publish this library to a scoped npm package. Here is the scoped npm package: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@crisiscleanup/connect-rtc and here is the commit patch that was required to do the publishing: https://github.com/aws/connect-rtc-js/commit/51aab390e575df53032ef58a17d7044ef7abd5db

It seems like it would be a huge benefit to many developers if this could be installed via npm in a trusted package.

@dnovicki Wondering if there was any progress on this? As @jaustinpage says the streams package is already doing this as well as the chatjs package, and it would be a huge benefit for developers to be able to install it as a trusted and versioned package.

@Christian-Sesta I am supportive of this however I am not the owner of this package so I will defer to the Connect team.

Christian-Sesta commented 3 years ago

@dnovicki sorry about that, i saw you merged a few PRs and made an assumption there. This is because a few other connect related packages can only have PRs merged by the owners. Do you happen to have an idea who from the contributors is the correct person to message about this?

@gargvk10 ?

I and my team would also like to have an npm package available ✋

@gargvk10 Just wondering what is going on with this ticket?

Christian-Sesta commented 1 year ago

@yiming-amzn is there any updates on this?

mike-saavedra commented 1 year ago

Yes, +1 from me too.

Unfortunately, #84 is blocking this and AWS needs to contact NPM to restore it's good name.
