Tell us about your request
What do you want us to build?
A perpetual free tier for AWS Fargate having a quota.
Which service(s) is this request for?
Fargate
Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?
What outcome are you trying to achieve, ultimately, and why is it hard/impossible to do right now? What is the impact of not having this problem solved? The more details you can provide, the better we'll be able to understand and solve the problem.
Running managed containers on AWS for a solo developer is quite expensive. A perpetual free tier for running workloads on AWS Fargate that can be exposed to public internet using API Gateway defined by a certain quota can help new developers and tinkerers to experiment more.
Are you currently working around this issue?
How are you currently solving this problem?
Currently I am running the workload on a lightsail instance which seems to be the cheapest option available on AWS.
Additional context
Anything else we should know?
I am aware that its possible to run custom containers on lambda. I do understand that we have a serverless free quota but it would be nice to have a container free quota for those who prefer containers.
