Unable to access AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Study Guide #28

Open bryhag opened 4 years ago

bryhag commented 4 years ago

Please describe the error you're reporting

I am unable to access the study guide located on Wiley Efficient Learning website, https://app.efficientlearning.com/. Whenever I attempt to access the guide by clicking the "Launch" button, I get a screen with an image that just spins, never loading the page.

I reached out to Wiley Support who has said they are not experiencing issues. I have tried to open this application on numerous web browsers.

Please indicate the chapter or appendix, section, and page number where the error appears (if applicable)

The Introduction references the study guide in question.

Please include any other comments or questions

I assumed you created an account first using wiley.com/go/sybextestprep (although there have definitely been users who have had trouble at that step). For what it's worth, I was just able to log in to https://app.efficientlearning.com/ using my account. Perhaps you've got a proxy server or other application that's blocking a required site... Let me know how it goes,

bryhag commented 4 years ago

I was able to log into the site successfully, but I am unable to pull up the Study Guide once logged into my account. After I click the Launch button (screenshot shown below) I am redirected to http://app.efficientlearning.com/pv5/v8/5/app/aws/aws-ceclprsg.html? and this page constantly spins without ever loading. I'm just guessing here, but is it possible that some kind of script or pop-ups are being blocked by your browser? Try opening up your browser's developer tools (usually done by hitting F12) and then reloading the page to see if any errors are described.

I do not have a pop-up blocker and I've tried with multiple browsers and no luck (even Internet Explorer). When reviewing the dev tools, I see a number of warnings and errors, two of which are the following which possibly could be the issue?

course.js:1 Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0 at JSON.parse () at preprocessFileContent (course.js:1) at course.js:1 at Da. (ruxitagentjs_ICA27SVfjqrux_10193200624125340.js:241)

Ok. This does sound like a server-side issue. So you've exhausted all the tools in my (tiny) toolbox. :) I'm going to see if I can get someone inside Wiley to help.

bryhag commented 4 years ago

Awesome, thanks for your assistance!

I haven't heard anything back yet, but I'll update you when I do.

bryhag commented 4 years ago

Hello,

I wanted to follow up and see if any progress has been made in fixing the Study Guide application?

Thanks for reminding me about this. No one from Wiley has gotten back to me yet. And, as things will probably be very quiet through the US holiday weekend, there probably won't be much action for the next few days either. This is pretty unfair for you, but I'm really not sure where to go. I'll certainly keep poking the folks in Wiley - and you should probably get in touch with customer service again.

I have the same issue. during registration, it only asked for email. Now, it wants a password and "reset password" link never generates any email. So, I have an account with just email id, access code for the book and some default password that was not set by me, and a broken reset password process on top of it.
