Please describe the error you're reporting Inacurracy in the question as well as the answer key. AZ consists of at least one data center, not two.

Please indicate the chapter or appendix, section, and page number where the error appears (if applicable) Assessment Test Q8 Which of these is a designation for two or more AWS data centers within a single geographic area? A. Availability Zone B. Region C. Network subnet D. Geo-unit

Book Answer A. An Availability Zone is one of two or more physical data centers located within a single AWS Region. See Chapter 4.

Please include any other comments or questions p. 54 An AWS Region (with the current exception of the Osaka-Local region) encompasses at least two distinct Availability Zones connected to each other with low-latency network links. Although, for security reasons, Amazon zealously guards the street addresses of its data centers, we do know that

a single AZ is made up of at least one fully independent data center

that’s built on hardware and power resources used by no other AZ.

This question trapped me into thinking that the answer is region, since region consists of at least two AZ, each AZ at least one data center.

Note that English is not my first language. I might have misunderstood the question which can be taken into consideration to rephrase the question.

I believe you are correct. The question should have been worded more carefully.
