fix for the screen readers on windows #647

hi, i am a blind windows user. i want to use this app, but my screen reader, nvda doesn't work with this app. i am on the latest stable release and the windows version is 11

Apologies, but Tartube uses the Gtk graphics library, and this library is incompatible with screen readers on Windows. I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to improve the situation.

I recommend that you choose a different downloader, maybe yt-dl-gui Open Video Downloader or Stacher. I have not tested them with screen readers, but none of them use the Gtk graphics library.

understood, thanks. i have tryed the downloaders but nun of them work. but i atleast know where to give feedback!

There is a comprehensive list of GUIs here (but it's a long read).

about this list? i came to tartube through list and non of the items works well with the screen readers

It's worth asking the question on that subreddit, there are bound to be some people with expertise in screen readers.
