Make top section less tall in sidebar

I like how the bottom section scrolls separately so that you can always compare charts and see filters, but in some cases there's not much height to see things unless the window is really tall.

Can the top section be condensed? Perhaps use the mini categorical legend at top? Maybe the choropleth legend and histogram can be repositioned to fill the empty space better?

Another idea would be to keep the categorical legend at it's current size, but only show the biggest three categories, then add a "More..." expander at the bottom to see the rest.

Here's what I've managed to do so far.

Ideally the histogram could double as the choropleth legend, but for now they're using different bins because the averages on the map are more skewed. In any case, this now doesn't take up any extra space:

Had more trouble getting categorical legend items to wrap nicely around the chart, but shrinking them a bit and using two columns below reduces the height a bit, at least.

Below is the wrapped version, not currently implemented. It's harder to get perfect but it is an option.
