Error communicating with Signal Servers

When I open Axolotl 1.2.0 on Ubuntu Touch (2022-W11 @JingPad A1), an Error Message pops up: "Axolotl encountered an error communicating with Signal Servers. Please try again"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start Axolotl
  2. Wait a few seconds

**Expected behavior: I

**Actual behavior: Nothing. As described

Axolotl 1.2.0

Device

JingPad A1 with Ubuntu Touch Release-Candidate (2022-W11)

Like that i cannot help you because it's a really generalized error message. so please add the log.

I didn't find any log with that name at the place you mentioned.

same problem. starting axolotl (version 1.2.0, ubuntutouch , fairphone,) always the same message screenshot20220321_115126743 no one of the mentioned links can be opened, so I can't check the status of Signal servers. several times uninstalling and new installing didn't change anything

Same problem for me. Very happy to help out with logs, running debugging builds, etc. I'm running Mobian on a PinePhone (not Pro).

Is this solved with v1.5.0?

the problem of missing Signal Servers didn't stop. I had to unregister (and loose all my chats and contacts) an register for new.

After some months now (I suppose after updating to 1.5.0 but I can't remember exactly) I lost all contacts and got the same message as above. So I tried to reinstall without success, then I unregistered and registered another time. Now I can receive and sent messages, so it seems so that the contact to the Signal Server is ok. But still I can't add new contacts or import a contact list. What could I do?

Error communicating with Signal Servers is a really generic issue. It means the credentials to log in to the signalserver isn't valid anymore and the signal server rejects the login. This happens for example, when you register axolotl/Signal on another device. Or it can happen temporarily because we hit some rate limit, in that case an hour of not using Axolotl is enough. Without logs I can't do anything.
