Actually, I am pretty sure that, unless you're using the Google Maps Javascript
API v2, the API key is no longer required. So you don't even have to worry
about including it unless you are intending to send large amounts of queries
(i.e., if you include an API key, the throttling mechanisms are slower to kick
in).
That said, if you still have questions, I would suggest posting this to the
discussion group, rather than the issue tracker. You can check out the Google

I meant to mention this in my last post. Since this is more of a question than
