I will check this. So you created a favourite for uitzendinggemist.nl and you
run that on?

Indeed, and all done via the menu's. No manual typing or hacking whatsoever.
1) Started XOT-UTG normally as a plugin
2) In the plugin, i created an XBMC favourite (not a XOT favourite) from the
context menu.
3) The confluence MOD skin allows to make a custom home menu item from an XBMC
favourite. I just selected the uitzendinggemist favourite created in 2) from
the presented favourite selection list.

I just tested this on a XBMC Frodo Nightly and I don't see any issues.
Did you experience this issue:
http://www.rieter.net/pages/XOT:FAQ#After_running_XOT-Uzg.v3_for_the_very_first_
time_on_a_fresh_XOT-Uzg.v3_install_no_channels_appear

No, it happens every time after booting my system on which xot-uzg is
installed. The channel content is all there, i'm just not able to select
anything. It feels like the gui is in a locked modus.
I did see something in the log about unlocking the gui after loading the
plugin. Maybe something goes wrong there?

OK, I will see if I can test it on an openelec build

Could you please attach one more logfile, right after the first run (so the one
that does not work OK for you) and NOT after you run it for the second time?

Ok, hope i can post it tonight.

Ok, here it is.
Did the following:
1) boot openelec
2) remove /storage/.xbmc/addons/net.rieter.xot/uzgPlugin.log using winscp
3) shutdown power
4) boot openelec
5) open xot-uzg via favourite going directly into uitzendinggemist.nl channel
6) backup /storage/.xbmc/addons/net.rieter.xot/uzgPlugin.log via winscp
Hope it helps.

I just tried an OpenElec build from the 4th of September (see here:
http://saraev.ca/xe/) and it all works there. Could it perhaps be your build?
Can you try a more recent OpenElec (Nightly) build?

Hmm, afraid i'm not able to try an upgrade to a fresh nightly. I tried i386 and
x86_64 builds, but they won't boot on my ION2 system. I had to downgrade via
another pc to make it run again.
I noticed something though. Just after the channel update received its items,
the blue selection bar is visible for a very short while, then the screen ends
up in the locked state. So it looks like something very late in the loading
process causes my problems..

It really comes down to a focus problem i guess. It looks like the selection
list loses the focus at the end of the load process to another control (or to
nothing because of some lock mode?). Might be a skin problem then..

Turns out it is the skin indeed. In default confluence it works the first time
after boot.
Any ideas?

no, I just know that they are having some issues with the new Python Scripting
engine and some GUI stuff (see here
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140682 and here
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13325)

can't imagine what causes the focus to be lost...
Seems to be a strange issue...
Let me take a look at it!
