18.1.1.2 Ensure 'Prevent enabling lock screen slide show' is set to 'Enabled'

Disables the lock screen slide show settings in PC Settings and prevents a slide show from playing on the lock screen. The recommended state for this setting is: 'Enabled'. Rationale: Disabling the lock screen slide show extends the protection afforded by the lock screen to slide show contents.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to 'Enabled': Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization\Prevent enabling lock screen slide show Note: This Group Policy path may not exist by default. It is provided by the Group Policy template 'ControlPanelDisplay.admx/adml' that is included with the Microsoft Windows 8.1 & Server 2012 R2 Administrative Templates (or newer). Impact: If you enable this setting, users will no longer be able to modify slide show settings in PC Settings, and no slide show will ever start.
