gpx doesn't import correctly #629

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download gpx file off internet
2.place it in the MyTracks folder, then i import it.
3. it says it has imported a gpx file.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The file i placed in the MyTracks that should have been imported doesn't appear 
in the tracks list

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?

>mytracks ver 1.1.10
>Gingerbread 2.3.3
>samsung galaxy S2

If possible please provide a log.  Either upload here or send to mytracks-
support@google.com.

I've seen this as well. It happens with GPX files I exported from elsewhere, 
but I've forgotten where. The GPX file was extended to include extra non 
standard data.

Hey,

maybe i found a way that could help you.

my problem was that i had a *kmz file which is not supported by mytracks ( 
import) so i converted it into gpx. this can be done online on gpsies.com . 
there u have the choice between two different types of gpx. one is "GPX Track" 
and one is "GPX Route".

With Gpx Route i had the same problem like you, but with GPX track it worked 
fine.

So maybe u go on this website and convert it to another type of gpx ( track)

this answer is a bit late, but maybe it also helps other people.

Going to close this bug. To debug, we would need a sample gpx file that cannot 
be imported and the system log containing the error during import. Thanks.
