Ability to turn off ANT+ sensors during recording #688

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start a recording.
2. Try to disable ANT+Sport sensor support to conserve battery
3. Notice that the ANT+Sport icon sits in the status bar until you stop the
recording.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I do not always carry ANT+Sport sensors with me. If I disable or enable
ANT+Sport support, it should take effect immediately, no matter if a recording
is in progress.

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?

MyTracks 1.1.11 on Android 2.3.4 on Sony Ericsson Xperia Active (ST17i)

I doubt ANT+ sensors have a noticeable impact on battery life.

If you do not have any ANT+ sensors with you, then there is no ANT+ connection
and no additional power usage.
If you do have ANT+ sensors that you are connected to, and would like to
improve phone battery consumption, an option to turn down how frequently data
is updated would be better (done using ANT Event Buffering).
