That would be called then Nitro or NoS. Boost is rather 2 rocket engines.
And it's cool and not easy to get the car to fly in air. It's also useful when
in air (at top of loop or pipe when wheels have lost their contact).
But you're right, and there should be an option in GUI to disable it, and
records should depend on it. If you're holding Ctrl time should count faster
(so it'd be not advice to hold it to get speed, only to get from off track).

I'm upping priority since this essentially changes gameplay.
Current gameplay (if you want to achieve a good time) is more or less like
this, you always press boost when not braking, and thats really boring.
In my opinion there should be a boost-o-meter that contains a fixed amount of
boost and gets filled up every lap (and/or maybe fills up slowly by itself)

This imho takes the fun part away from using boost. Can be very fun to pull off
huge jumps with it, or drive very fast on long, straight parts of the track.
Plus, it has this cool particle effect :)

I agree, an indicator for boost, filled each lap would be good.
And settings in gui for boost: none, each lap, over time, always.

Gui settings ready and working: never, always, over time.
Still todo: each lap, and
Tweak param values (speed, max, how much for lap etc)

Indicator done (probably not very intuitive), each lap too.
Some testing is welcome.
Also need to make separate records for boost setting never and others (at least
for 2 (never, and same for the rest)).

Closing, old. Records currently dont depend on boost type.
