Ubuntu Xenial is almost stable (see #146 however), and is LTS. So why remove support ?
@Pytheas54 Less things to maintain, less burden, ability to provide better compatibility.
Bionic is the next LTS release, but has more up-to-date packages

Many people have problems with USB3 external hard drives. Is this fixable in the stable release?

I updated my kernel from the latest stable to 4.4.120-rockchip-ayufan-213 and also did a dist-upgrade (bionic beaver) and either my USB3 speed or network speeds have improved greatly. Currently getting 90MB/s down and about 70MB/s up using samba + usb3 hdd.
Been using bionic beaver for a few months now and haven't really ran into any problems so far. Only thing I notice is some weird stuff with the graphs going on in htop (someone else already posted an image in another issue)
This issue is to coordinate the release of 0.6.x stable branch.
I'm aligning the release date with April 28th, which should be a date of Ubuntu Bionic release.
