+1 for newer kernel so can run different kubernetes network. Has anyone managed to get a newer kernel than 4.4 running reliably?
I got mainline 5.2 latest and 5.3rc latest to boot, the LEDs don't work though. And the kernel doesn't detect my USB flash drives, but it could detect my external USB hard drive. Didn't even come up in dmesg, tried different USB ports, even the exact same one I used for the external HDD. I haven't tried it much other than that (because I need Linux to detect USB flash drives for my use case so I'm not using it) so I don't know how stable it is. So no USB flash drives (I tried a USB2 and USB3 one) or power lights
I'm looking to switch to the linux-mainline kernel for Zstd Btrfs compression to speed up send/receive times (since the rockchip kernel is based on 4.4 Btrfs send first decompresses the stream then sends it, using more time, bandwidth and disk space). What features or hardware doesn't work on that kernel? (like usb, ethernet, cpu scaling, etc.) I don't use USB3 (Wi-Fi 2.4GHz dies when I use it with my external hard drive adapter, but it's not like my HDD and network is fast enough to surpass 40MB/s anyway) or HDMI.
Is there a list of working/not working features somewhere on the internet (fairly recent of course)
