focal-mate-pinebookpro-0.10.12-1184-armhf.img.xz fails to boot start up script shows and then just go to black screen

Have you read the text of this pre-release? It has already been written that none of the mate / lxde start correctly ... If you want to use your pinebook pro, use the latest stable release (0.9.14), this one works.
