Enabling "tile" mode on an image (and/or setting neighbours up for the tile) causes the specular map (preview and exported) to produce empty black imahes regardless of the specular parameters. Disabling tile mode, the specular image is still black until one of the specular parameters is changed, triggering a new generation of the image that returns to normal.
