List Items no longer highlight #113

Make sure that operations with the trackball and the touchscreen both 
properly active "focused" or "selected" highlighting.

I've rolled back the offending changes. Next time we try and get things 
prettier, lets 
make sure we don't expose bugs like this for too long.
