[Object] Forge in Telaar – Buggy behavior/Wrong area of effect #19832

Open alecsci opened 2 months ago

alecsci commented 2 months ago

Current Behaviour

Reported by: https://github.com/chromiecraft/chromiecraft/issues/6069 Please see the screenshots and descriptions in the reported bug, they are more suggestive. In order for the smelt to work, I had to jump on the anvil very close to the fire.

Expected Blizzlike Behaviour

Forge should have a bigger area of effect in order to smelt ore, as it happens with the similar forge found in Shattrath.

Source

None

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. learn smelting and add some copper (.npc add temp 5513 & .add 2770)
  2. .go gameobject 24089 (Telaar's Forge)
  3. .go gameobject 25399 (Compare with Shattrath's Forge)

Comments on the issue by @heyitsbench from checking cata PTR

Well the Shattrath forge is definitely more reachable than it should be, should pretty much only be reachable in the red zone but it's currently reachable in both the red and the blue zone

Meanwhile Telaar forge is weird, should be reachable in the blue and red zones but it's only reachable in the red

I have updated the forge spawns in #18620 and there is a forge spawn right at the shattrath forge which does not exist in sniffs. So this could probably explain the too wide range there

alecsci commented 1 month ago

So the non sniffed value is a bit more accurate ? I remember when I played years ago that the normal reach was similar to the shattrath forge

So the non sniffed value is a bit more accurate ?

Based on what I observed on Classic, no, the non sniffed value extends much further than it should.
