Can't enable the addon after I install it #58

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download the .zip
2.go to the "Addons" tab in preferences, Install Addon, choose the .zip, then
click "Install Addon"
3.Goes back to the screen with the addon list and I can't enable it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to be able to enable the plugin after it is installed

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Blender-2.64, Blender SMD Tools-1.6

Please provide any additional information below.
I've read around and I can't figure out a solution to this. I downloaded
another file called io_smd_tools-117.zip (I forgot where from) but that
imported the .smd file but it was just a bunch of spheres, no shape. I'll
attach the file that worked...sort of.

Same here. Really want to get this working since Maya is such a hassle when
exporting SMDs with bones. Please fix ASAP.

I also happen to have this problem. I've tried using 1.6 on x86 and x64
versions of Blender from 2.6.0 to 2.6.4, all with the same results - I can not
enable the add-on.

Just take the latest one's from repo either svn checkout them or just take
those two files - they are from trunk of svn

http://blender-smd.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/datamodel.py
http://blender-smd.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/io_smd_tools.py

update guys latest download for fixed version from repo, or people will get
confused.

Made a new release as there don't seem to be any other major issues.

I'm using Blender 2.6.5, and I got 1.6.5, and I can't enable the
importer/exporter, and I also can't install datamodel.py. Please help!

according to changelog:
" * Updated to Blender 2.66. Earlier versions of Blender are no longer
supported."
2.65 is unsupported, either upgrade blender or download older version from repo.
