Getting hostname or domain name

What happened?

Hello, As a beginner I have experienced yunohost server. There they provide free and automatically configured domain name service (nohost.me, noho.st and ynh.fr)

Without this I am a bit lost how to first setup an https certificate. How can I get a domain or subdomain name ? Do I have to pay a monthly service or is there some other free services ?

Yes you can use any monthly subscription service to buy a domain then setup the DNS (in their website) to point the domain to your IP
