mu4e: signal 11 from server process when reading maildir with ~150k emails

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open my to.arne_bab maildir (with jump to maildir)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see my email. Instead the minibuffer flashes the messages:

    error in process sentinel: mu4e~proc-sentinel: mu server process received signal 11
    error in process sentinel: mu server process received signal 11

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

From my Package manager:

    mu-0.9.9

From mu4e.el:

Please provide any additional information below.

I have several huge maildirs (together more than a million mails) and I track 
the mails in Mercurial, so there is a .hg/ folder in the top-level folder. mu 
seems to try to analyze that, too (it shows me the .hg/store/[name] maildirs, 
even though they cannot contain valid emails).

Can you reproduce this with a more recent version? If so, can you get a 
backtrace?
