This poses a few potential ambiguities:

For TOA analysis, a value of 0 could either mean a time of arrival at 0ms, or a non-detection.
For angle analysis, a value of 0 could mean either a bearing of 0, or a non-detection. We can get around this by re-coding all 0 bearings to 2*pi.
For distance analysis, a value of 0 could mean either a distance of 0 (i.e., animal is in the same location as the trap), or a non-detection.

Perhaps enforce users to provide a binary capture history matrix too?
