Navigation Volume in LCR 1.8 #161

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
This is an enhancement request. The volume for navigation which was amazingly
high in LCR 1.7.3 is very low on LCR 1.8 (it is now the same as stock bin).

While 1.8 is amazing, I am sometimes really missing this feature from 1.7.3 (no
joke, 1.7.3 sounded like an actual GPS).

While I love 1.8, I am seriously considering switching back to 1.7.3 because I
tend to get lost quite often :(

Yes, I think it is really important for me too. In general text to speech
volume seems very low.

I don't know why it would load the picoTTS with English TTS, because my native
language is Dutch and the Google Navigation gives the instructions in Dutch (it
doesn't use TTS since PicoTTS doesn't support Dutch). Setting the Android
Language to English also doesn't help for the volume.

Is there any difference between the volume of Copilot Live for example and
Google Maps Navigation? The voice of Google Maps navigation is barely audible,
while it was audible in LCR 1.7.3 and the voice of Copilot live is normale in
both versions, I only get a fade in at the beginning of every sound.

and for me the voice also seems to fade in and out.

I think it supposed to fade, but it doesn't do it on my device, so the volume
stays on the level where the fade starts.
