Hi! So, hakintosh works ok with Mojave but doesn't let you install Catalina?
Try to delete this option related to RX560 from config.plist. It overwrites ig-platform-id from Graphics tab.
I managed to get this running on an iGPU setup on Catalina Developer Beta 5. I had to do a few modifications in your config in order to succeed booting:
-disablegfxfirmware
to prevent booting issuesUseIntelHDMI
for audio via HDMIPreboot
and Recovery
into "Hide Volume" for a cleaner boot menu, chose the embedded theme (who cares how the boot menu looks like?)Apple RTC
as recommended for Gigabyte boardsShutdown, reboot and sleep basically work, however, after a while the Hacki woke up during sleep shortly for no reason.
Updated BIOS from version F10 to F12 thanks to your guide. Booted successfully, but LastBootedVolume
and timeout
start in Clover does not work with BIOS F12.
You didn't apply many patches – if any – from the hackintosh.gitbook.io site. Is there a reason for it?
You should link an explanation for Darkwake entries like this one.
Would be great if you could test my config on your system and comment if this is working for you as well. A compatibel setup for internal and external graphics would be awesome, so people don't have to refer to xmark's post for an iGPU setup which is not suitable for Catalina (yet).
@b166ar I can see from your EFI 10.14.6 v2 that you did not change any of my suggested parameters. Have you tried my changes if they work for you as well?
Oh sorry, I missed your message. Will try all your suggestions later today.
@MiMoHo @b166ar Sorry for the beginner question. To update a .kext, just replace the file in the folder /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kext/other/ ?
Yes, that’s right.
I created a USB boot stick with the 10.15 Developer Beta 5 and your 10.14.6 v1 EFI but the system ends up crashing and restarting after a minute when booting just before one would expect to see the loading bar in verbose mode. I tried to use your EFI for Mojave 10.14.6 and had to define the graphics
ig-platform-id
for the Macmini8,1 SMBIOS that I preferred over the iMac in order to make it work for an internal graphics setup. However, I continue being stuck with the installation of Catalina. Tried your and xmark's BIOS settings for iGPU but did not get it running. The components are pretty much the same: i7-8700K, no external GPU, G.Skill 16GB RAM, Gigabyte Z370N WiFi with F10 BIOS. I will comment once I find solution...
