nodes can be added to free floating nodes on initial load #220

Describe the bug When a free floating node is added and the page is loaded for the first time, it is possible to add children to that node. this should not be allowed.

Expected behavior Free nodes can't have children, a click on the plus button shouldn't add Childs.
