If an installation from synaptic and Debian's repositories is possible, especially without an additional ppa, then https://babluboy.github.io/bookworm/#install should mention this.
Within the OS and the Xfce4 window manager, the program nests into the group of office programs, just as e.g., gnumeric and zathura, do too. However, the associated command to launch the program isn't the anticipated bookworm (which, based calling e.g., zathura from the CLI), but com.github.babluboy.bookworm. Suggestion: either use bookworminstead of the long command, or allow bookwormas an alternative from the get-go. There shouldn't the need to define an alias in the .bashrc here.
