On the website, it says
Babun contains an auto-update feature which enables updating both the microkernel, the plugins and even the underlying cygwin.
Unless the website is lying, I believe this issue should be closed.
How can it NOT be that one of the most FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION is NOT:
How do I upgrade the CYGWIN inside BABUN?
babun is still using 1.7.29(0.272/5/3) where cygwin is now 1.7.35. That is pretty old in the teeth.
If "pact" can do this I haven't figured it out... has no one else ever asked this? pact --update updates the setup.ini and pact install cygwin says it's already installed! pact is limited as it installs and removes but does not seem to be able to update... is there something I'm missing?
I noticed in the source of 1.0.2 here is an "update.bat" but it did not work bringing it into 1.0.1
Is babun supposed to auto-upgrade cygwin too or just "babun"?
My real complaint is why isn't this addressed anywhere in the FAQ or the DOCS!
