Right now it seems that everything needs to be clicked on to select which works just fine. Is it easy to add hitting the Enter key does the same thing?

babybunny commented 7 years ago

It pretty much has to be done on a case by case basis. Can you point out one place where this would be most helpful?

gregbernard commented 7 years ago

Hi,

The most useful would be when we are entering in a new site ID on the home page. Ie 17644MEN etc.

Thanks.

Hey Luke,

Thank you for getting the Order input working. Looks good.

We are trying to add a new site and it doesn't seem like that's working? Can you take a look at this please? Specifically we have been trying to create a site 17652BEL for Joyce Hill. It's on the more urgent side. We can work around it but human error being what it is sooner or later we'll fudge that up.

Thanks.

Hi Luke,

We have an issue with Orders in Rooms. We can now enter things but can no longer delete them. When we try to do so we can a white screen saying Placeholder. You can look at 17626BEL at the 6.46$ Safety Materials that needs to be removed.

Thanks.

Can you try again now? I pushed a change recently that may have fixed it.

Otherwise, please let me know what you are seeing when you try to create the site.

I created issue 333 to track this. order deletion. https://github.com/babybunny/rebuildingtogethercaptain/issues/333

in general it's s good practice to create a new issue in github if you notice something not related to the current issue email thread. this email thread is linked to issue 311 about Input via Enter so it's likely that I will miss the comment (or mis-understand it!)

Hi @gregbernard, I'd like to help here! What's the current desired behavior here? And with the "Go To Site #" functionality is this still High Priority from your point of view? Thanks! Andy

gregbernard commented 7 years ago

No, it's not a high priority. I was just hoping to be able to hit Return instead of having to click OK everywhere. No biggie IMHO.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Can you give me an example of a form that feels onerous? Just want to make sure we target the right thing.

gregbernard commented 7 years ago

Actually I notice it primarily on the main page when I’m entering site IDs.

Thanks

Perfect we'll get that taken care of! Thanks.

Ok looking to @babybunny for input here. jquery version >=1.8.11 has functional "autoFocus" for the autocomplete which sets focus to the first element of the drop-down. However staff_home.html has src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.0/jquery.min.js". In order to upgrade we would have to upgrade the jqueryui as well and my testing shows there are some unexpected side-effects. In other words the upgrade would require a steady hand and a few rounds of iteration with UAT.

Thoughts?

gregbernard commented 7 years ago

Thanks for looking into it Andy. My 0.02 USD is to get the Orders stuff working correctly and the rest be damned. It was a 'nice to have' whereas a working system is a need.

Thanks.

Acknowledged thanks! That work is our priority for sure. But in the meantime I wanted to document my findings on this issue so we have state when we return to this. Perhaps we can also remove the Priority-High label in the meantime.

gregbernard commented 7 years ago

Yeah, it's a pretty low priority request. I didn't know it was marked Priority-High as it was more of a request for a lazy typist...

Thanks.
