Error installing GitHub API. Cannot extract temporary://update-cache-ae5ff676/1.x-1.0.5, not a valid archive

Had a similar issue with https://github.com/backdrop-contrib/site_verification/issues/2

So, seems to me this is a core issue against Project Installer and not this modules fault. If that is true we should close this and file against core.

I believe on gitter it was determined that direct downloads and drush installs work fine.

I don't think it's a problem with the Project Installer as much as projects that were packaged in August of 2016. The window of time may be larger, but so far the only projects with releases that have this bug were packaged within weeks of each other back in 2016.
