Better Bakery UX #21

I think we should solve the bakery UX problem mentioned here the same way d.o did. Only let's include our fix in the Backdrop Bakery module, and if possible provide a patch back to the d.o issue too :)

Guess I became a 'victim' of the mentioned UX problem. When I tried to login to https://localize.backdropcms.org today, it didn't work because I wasn't aware of Bakery, so I didn't use my b.org credentials but the ones of localize.b.org.

I tried then some password reset actions on the different sites, resulting in an "to be repaired" account. In a message on the localize.b.org site at a certain point I saw the suggestion to repair it by myself, but that didn't work because the relevant form has some required fields which are empty, missing the option to fill them:

I don't know how to repair my account otherwise. @jenlampton are you able to do so that I can login to localize.b.org again?

I tried that and got the screen which you can see in the last comment.

@olafgrabienski ...I promise to take a look at this. I'm burned out right now though 😞

Did you create an account in localize before the bakery module was installed? That might explain things. ...or not 😄

@olafgrabienski your account is active (as in not blocked) on localize.b.org. Are you still not able to log in?

@klonos Thanks for looking at my account on localize.b.org! I'm still not able to log in. Let me explain more detailed:

I have two accounts: one generated on localize.b.org before Bakery, and the standard b.org account.

When I try to log in on localize.b.org with my localize account, the page just reloads without logging me in or doing something else. I even don't see a message, just nothing.

When I try the same with my b.org account, I get the following message:

Your user account on localize.backdropcms.org appears to have problems. Would you like to try to repair it yourself? If you need help, please feel free to email the website administrators: info@backdropcms.org.

On the "Repair account", I see another message (which I didn't notice before):

Both an account with matching name and an account with matching email address exist, but they are different accounts. This must be fixed manually. Please contact the site administrator.

The problem might be that the accounts have the same user name but different email addresses. To fix the localize account, you could try to bring the email addresses in line. If that doesn't help feel even free to delete my localize.b.org account which should't be anymore necessary as we use Bakery, right?

@olafgrabienski lets try bringing the emails on par. Would you like to keep the olafski.de (used on the main site) or the buerobackbord.de (used on localize) one for both sites?

@klonos Which address doesn't matter, choose just the one which is easier to change!

I tried changing the email over at localize, and I got a "The e-mail address xxx@olafski.de is already taken."

,,,ah, I see that that email is used by the "Multiple contributors" account that you created. I'll delete that one.

I see! Maybe not delete the "Multiple contributors" account but change the email address to something at backdropcms.org?

Yay! 👍 🎉 ...I knew there was something wrong with having set up user accounts pre-bakery.

Had to register on the main website separately today as my access credentials for forums didn't work there. Would be nice to have SSO on all *.backdropcms.org websites not to confuse the future users.
