Make a logo #235

Will put my extensive photoshop skillz to good use. Reply with ideas.

Sir Francisl looks cool! I think this is a very good draft. Some fine tuning will make it perfect. Maybe decorate his clothing with marble diagrams?

Kinda did this jokingly, but have to admit I really like badass Francis.

The glasses shouldn't be a problem me thinks, I'll probably modify them to look more in the etching style if we go with this idea.

Not bad, but this is more related to some pathetic brand, neither to FRP library. Otherwise, Sir Francis is not so famous by his face. There should be something more neat and suitable to FRP )) IMHO

I think the fact that FRP is less accessible, at least to programmers used to more imperative style programming could make a case for more of a fun logo to communicate fun/accessibility.

For instance the reactive banana library has a logo with a banana with a cowboy-hat wielding bananas as pistol's. Hardly FRP related, but fun and whimsical. I like it.

That being said I'm completely open to putting in work for other concepts, but I have nothing concrete that's FRP related, so let me know if you have any ideas.

Okay, now I feel dumb. What a cool, maybe slightly obscure, history reference! I'm going to keep thinking about this, interesting stuff!

I'm also a bit confused by the brand comment. I'm in favor of a fun logo. A non pig-meat related one is also a bonus.

Btw I recognized Sir Francis immediately. The Raybans can't fool me.

Francis Bacon is definitely famous! Who better than the founder of the scientific method to head up such a rational project?

And if it's not enough, there are two famous Francis Bacons, if we also include the painter with a penchant for painting bacon.

Either of them is a better mascot than a sliver of pork.

If someone wants to improve the suggested logo to make the sunglasses the same style as the portrait, I'm sold.

It sounds like a good idea to apply a "finishing touch" to the image.

Is it ok if I remove trollish/unrelated comments from above?
