adding combo box support (insted of drop down)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
-have a column that is editable and provide with a list of data as an option to 
make a selection 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
-Allow the user to select from drop down but also to type the new text

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
-Version 1.3, Firefox, xp sp3

Please provide any additional information below.

That particular functionality would come from jquery.editable:

http://code.google.com/p/jquery-datatables-editable/wiki/CustomCellEditors

so it is that plugin you would need to extend...
