I have this installed on my phone, but was trying to install it on my child's phone and it's no longer available in the Play store. The URL https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.badaix.snapcast gives me a 404.

I suppose you know that already, but I'm leaving this here in case somebody wanders in from Google search: you can download the latest version of the APK from this page. Simply download the compressed file, extract and execute on your phone. I have been up and running on Android for over a year now this way.

I took it offline, because there are too many idi*ts out there with the strong desire to give bad reviews for a completely free (as in speech and as in beer) app. I answered to all of them that they should open an issue on this project page and so contribute to improve the app and make it better for everyone.

Some of my favorite 1-star reviews:

Maxwell G.

Does what designed but destroys your battery. This needs to be fixed and is not acceptable

Heiner M.-M.

Funktioniert überhaupt nicht!!! (Doesn't work at all!!!)

Glynn C.

Didn't work for me

Man, I'm so sorry! That's absolutely ridiculous!

The reason I was looking for it on the play store is that I've setup SnapCast on my home media server, and my young children like to use the SnapDroid on their Family Link-managed devices so they can listen to whatever's playing on the media center in other rooms in the house. Because of their ages, I've turned off the ability to install apps from unknown sources on their phones, which, at least as far as I can see, makes it impossible to install directly from GitHub. There is a clone of your app with advertisements, but I'm really leery of installing it on my kids' phones for exactly that reason.

I do understand the frustration when entitled jerks show a complete lack of appreciation for the gift you've given them. If there's anything that could convince you to republish, please let me know.

And, even if you decide not to republish it on the Play store, do know that your work is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I completely missed that it wasn't your version of snapcast on the app store. The clone is actually not working on my phone, but your latest APK release is flawlessly.

From the silent majority of users of snapcast: thank you for your incredible work! If you decide to republish it, just ask and you'll get a 5 star from me.

I really appreciate you returning this to the store!
