Include some kind of Results Summary in the View at /schedule that appears after the Exposed Filters, but before the Results.
Optimally, this would be something along these lines:
Displaying 24 results for Events, Sessions on Wed, Thursday on APIs, Testing
What is ultimately enacted is being left to the discretion of Sean...
