@HeikoAdams I'm sorry to bump this, but I found this by accident and now I wonder: why is this needed?
It's not "needed", but gnome-shell started using symbolic icons in the left of their top bar at some point and they are also used when using some high-contrast theme stuff for visually impaired users.
Ah, I see, that's the icon he meant. Thanks for clarifying!
Please add a symbolic icon so corebird would fit even better into Gnome-Shell
